  • Why Am I So Tired Lately Female?

Sleep Debt

To our surprise, it is one of the common reasons for feeling tired. You can feel it in many ways if you aren’t getting enough sleep at night. Many people due to their too busy schedules go through life feeling too stressed and do not get all of the sleep they need to feel refreshed. Getting under the recommended 8 hours of sleep especially if the debt builds each night is not only associated with fatigue, but also impaired performance, and a greater risk of accidents. Hence, a quality sleep is inevitable to subdue fatigue.

  • Why Am I So Tired In The Morning?

Static lifestyle

When tiredness sets in you only want to sit back and relax at your home without any activity.  While keeping a healthy routine of Exercising can help to increase energy and reduce tiredness.  Moving around may be the best thing you can do to re-energize and eradicate fatigue. Research by the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens discovered that when sedentary individuals completed an exercise program regularly, their fatigue improved compared with those who did not. Various experts suggest that all adults need 2 hours and 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week and muscle-strengthening activities that work all the major muscle groups on 2 or more days per week. You can plan out your activity judiciously across the week for your wellness rather than spend time watching a movie.

  • Why Am I Always Tired And Have No Energy?

Medical conditions

Depression is an important cause of tiredness associated with a condition causing abnormalities by mood-regulating chemicals called neurotransmitters in the brain. Depressed people suffer from sleep disorders and energy level. They also have trouble waking up in the morning and sleep too long. Financial problems, relationship issues, major life events, and upheavals such as moving house, unemployment, and bereavement — the list of potential stressors is never-ending. In fight or flight situations the chemicals that our body produces are toxins that can’t be used up and, over time, can damage the health. Depression often makes people feel sluggish and apathetic.

  • Always Sleepy No Matter How Much Sleep I Get?

Anaemia lets your body either have a lower than the normal number of red blood cells or it doesn’t have enough haemoglobin. Haemoglobin is the substance responsible for carrying oxygen throughout your body. When you have not enough red blood cells or too little haemoglobin your body doesn’t get enough oxygen and you feel tired or weak. Iron deficiency alone, even without anaemia, is now thought to be a cause of chronic fatigue. Eating a healthy and balanced diet can make you feel the difference after adopting the habit.

Hypothyroidism is a disease where the thyroid gland does not function fully producing insufficient thyroid hormone. Thyroid hormones control your metabolism and when its levels are low, you may have symptoms of tiredness, weight gain, and feeling cold. Thyroid disease is very common, especially in women, and affects several millions of women. Moreover, hypothyroidism can mimic depression symptoms making the condition much confusing.

  • Why Am I Always Tired And Cold?

Hepatitis induces inflammation of the liver backing for several possible reasons from infections to obesity. Many important functions in the body from breaking down toxins into manufacturing proteins that control blood clotting, to metabolizing and storing carbohydrates, and much more is done with the liver. With the inflammation of the liver, these important processes gradually come to a halt. Your body functions when halted tiredness rules you.

Heart disease, especially in the case of heart failure patients tend to feel tired always and are unable to tolerate exercise. This is because the heart loses its capacity to pump oxygenated blood to muscles and other tissues in the body effectively. It would be difficult to even carry out your daily chores, like walking or carrying your groceries inside out.

  • Why Am I So Tired Today?

Diabetes is a condition in which either the body doesn’t make enough insulin hormone produced by the pancreas or it is unable to use it the way it should. Insulin helps glucose get into the body’s cells to be used for energy production. Diabetes may cause you to feel tired all the time due to various reasons.

A disorder characterized by intense fatigue that becomes a Chronic Fatigue Syndrome when it does not improve with rest and which worsen by physical or mental exertion. It is unknown what causes this condition.

Besides all these, we have a handful of reasons such as urinary tract infection, food intolerance, glandular fever, pregnancy, vitamin and mineral deficiencies that counts for feeling tired more than usual.

Diagnostic tests

The diagnosis is done with the help of tests to confirm the underlying cause(s) of tiredness. Starting with blood tests, urine tests, imaging scans, mental health questionnaires may be necessary depending on other symptoms. Tests can help rule out physical causes, such as an infection, hormonal problems, anaemia, liver problems, or kidney problems. If any imbalance is diagnosed it would need attention and treatment such as controlling diabetes. The physician probably starts with a sleep study to rule out a sleeping disorder. To practice good sleep hygiene we have to aim to go to bed and wake up at the same time each day, even on off days to maintain a consistent routine. The environment of sleep has to be dark and quiet with the bedroom temperature at a comfortable level of 60 to 67°F (as per The National Sleep Foundation). Avoid the light and sounds from screens of a mobile phone, a TV or computer as it stimulates brain activity affecting sleep quality at least an hour before sleeping. Complete dinner within 90 minutes before going to bed. As bedtime approaches, physically and mentally slow down. Listening to some soothing music or a warm bath would refresh you and clear your mind of stressful and worrying thoughts before going to sleep. Keeping a sleep diary may also help.

These hospital chains are not only customers for the pharmaceutical industry but also assist with clinical research for new medications. It is certainly the time to capitalise the available resources to transform the State into a booming economic zone.

According to the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) GITAM Biotech Centre of Excellence, AP comprises rich resources and there is a need to develop the expertise to meet the growing demand in biotechnology. In a conference held by APEDB, its Vice-Chairman Lanka Srinivas said that 50% of the research in pharmacy is based on biotechnology and that the country will play a key role in the field in the coming years. Latest Health News and Research on Drugs Banned in India 2018

As we all aware, these three drugs were among 328 fixed dose combination banned by Union health ministry on September 7th officially released on 12th of September 2018 through a government notification following a Drugs Technical Advisory Committee report. The order to this effect was issued by a bench of Justices R F Nariman and Indu Malhotra following a petition by drug manufacturers.

Then the government took the decision on the recommendation of a panel constituted by the Centre on the SC’s direction to review safety, efficacy and therapeutic justification of fixed dose combination banned by Union health ministry.

The DTAB in its report recommended, amongst other things, that there is no therapeutic justification for the ingredients contained in these FDCs.

The drug firms argued that they have been manufacturing these drugs since 1988 and should be exempted from the ban. They cited the apex court’ earlier relief to 15 drugs on the basis of the similar grounds.

The bench asked the Union health ministry to give its opinion on the petitions filed against the order.

History of Banned Drugs in India

Manufacturers challenged the government’s decision to ban the drugs and, argued that they have been making these combinations since before 1988. The companies also said that since the Supreme Court had earlier exempted 15 such combination drugs from the ban, the same exemptions should be extended to them, as well, the report quoted lawyers as saying.

Earlier the Delhi High Court on Friday permitted Wockhardt to carry out sale of its anti-inflammatory drug, Ace Proxyvon till September 18. Wockhardt has been manufacturing Ace Proxyvon since last 11 years. Though the health ministry has banned Wockhardt’s anti-inflammatory drug among others based on DTAB report, the company pointed out that it has not yet received the copy of the report.

Earlier, the Central government had, through its notifications published on the March 10, 2016 in the Gazette of India, prohibited the manufacture for sale, sale and distribution for human use of 344 FDCs under section 26 A of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. Subsequently, the Government had prohibited five more FDCs in addition to the 344 under the same provisions. However, the matter was contested by the affected manufacturers in various High Courts and the Supreme Court of India. In compliance with the directions given by the Supreme Court of India in its judgment dated the December 15, 2017, the matter was examined by the DTAB constituted under section 5 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 which furnished its report on these drugs to the Central Government.

The Board recommended that it is necessary to prohibit the manufacture, sale or distribution of these FDCs under section 26 A of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 as they lacked therapeutic justification.

With regard to six FDCs, the Board recommended that their manufacture, sale and distribution be restricted subject to certain conditions based on their therapeutic justification. Fifteen FDCs out of the 344 prohibited on the 10th March, 2016, which were claimed to be manufactured prior to 21st September, 1988, have been kept out of the purview of current notifications.

As we come to know that the Delhi high court had earlier allowed Indian pharma major Wockhardt to sell its Ace Proxyvon tablets, which is a mixture of three salts — aceclofenac, paracetamol and rabeprazol — a combination that is banned. Now these three drugs that are fixed dose combination (FDC) drugs including Piramal Healthcare’s Saridon, GlaxoSmithKline’s Piriton Expectorant, Juggat Pharma’s Dart have now got free from the ban.

Pharmacy Education in near future

In fact, it would be a healthy change in terms of education to incorporate the addition of new institutes and closure of existing ones. It is in accordance with the recent trends in professional education to cope up with unemployment and futuristic economy in the land. At a time when technical courses such as engineering, management and computer application are witnessing a dip in enrolment, the demand for pharmacy courses is on the rise. The technical education body needs to be cautious while increasing the intake of pharmacy courses. According to the experts, the stream of pharmacy has emerged as an alternative to medicine, as the latter has a limited intake and is increasingly becoming unaffordable to a large section of the population. Students who cannot get admission in medical courses opt for pharmacy.  This is an agreeable fact to accept that even when we went through the recession, the healthcare sector didn’t suffer any loss. The pharmaceutical sector is thriving because there is a rise in lifestyle diseases and as long as there is life the pharmacy will exist.

Recently a Jaipur-based smartphone application MeraPatient has come up to bring more offline pharma stores online. The founders of this app out of concern to Healthcare connectivity aimed to create a single point platform that could bring together all stakeholders in the healthcare system. It offers the user to search nearby authenticated pharma stores and diagnostic labs (in a five-kilometre radius) by uploading the prescription on the app and can see and buy medicines or book an appointment for any prescribed tests. Depending on the choice and convenience, a user may choose an option and avail the offer. For the certified pharma stores and diagnostic labs, MeraPatient sends them alerts based on demand from users and based on availability. They are provided to offer a combination of price discounts and home delivery options. For hassle-free access of the user Diagnostic labs can also opt to upload test reports.

Vadodara Pharmaceutical companies List

Gujarat had emerged as an independent state than the state of Greater Bombay on 1st May 1960. India was not self-sufficient for medicines and was a net importer of the most of bulk drugs & many formulations until about the appearance of pharmaceutical industries in Gujarat. In 1947(the year of Independence) India’s Pharmaceutical production was just Rs. 100 million. The evolution of the drugs and pharmaceutical cluster started off with the establishment of the first unit – Alembic Chemical Works Ltd. at Vadodara back in 1907.  A surge in demand for pharmaceutical products with the reduction in import after the 1st World War and the growth of textile industries led to large labour inflow.

The reason for the steep rise in new drug discovery and development is a result of the sheer magnitude of R&D opportunities and unmet needs. The development of deep-tank fermentation technology provided the drug industry with large-scale production facilities – the plants and valuable insights into research skills in screening for antibiotic activity in soil samples, organisms, and fungi. UNIDO took up cluster development programme during 2000 and their interventions are as follows:

  1. a) 60 firms have gone for quality up-gradation. Of these, 32 firms have received one or more quality certifications, 6 firms who have already received one certification are now pursuing higher quality certifications. 28 firms are pursuing one or more quality certifications.
  2. b) 41 firms that have gone for quality up-gradation c) 20 firms have got export linkages to new export destinations. 12 firms have got connected to 13 large pharmaceutical manufactures for contract manufacturing.

Present Scenario:-

At present, the pharma industry is undergoing a new phase of internationalisation. The process patent regime is being replaced by a product patent regime that has injected uncertainty and impacted the growth pattern of the cluster.

The major products manufactured in the cluster include

  1. Pharmaceuticals both allopathic and ayurvedic formulation, in different dosage forms (including tablets, liquid, capsules – also called orals; externals and injectables)
  2. Medical disposable products like I.V sets. Approximately 450 drugs and pharmaceutical manufacturing units are running in Ahmedabad, Vadodara and nearby places. About 50 manufacturing units produce medical disposables. Other units are in formulations including ayurvedic products. 7 firms in the clusters are big, around 20-25 medium-sized and the rest are small.

The pharmaceutical industry undergoing the unprecedented changes, there is also a growing strength of pharmacy workforce in our country. The drug segment for lifestyle disorder enhances the growth of India’s pharmaceutical industry categorically in anti-diabetics, antiulcer, antidepressants, cardiovascular, antihypertensive, and drugs needed for Alzheimer’s disease, osteoarthritis, cancer, etc. Currently, the Indian industries are in tough competition from domestic generic markets and other low-cost drug producing countries such as from East Europe belt, China, Korea, and Israel. Andhra Pradesh is a vast growing sector in terms of Pharmaceuticals. The State government is keen on developing Andhra Pradesh as a medical hub of the nation. Moreover, this verdict has taken its course when last year the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stated that the government will set up pharma clusters in four different parts of the State in a meeting. At the Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi it was decided jointly with the representatives of Pharmaceutical Exports Promotion Council of India, Drugs Control Organisation and entrepreneurs from the pharma sector that four pharma clusters will be developed at Chutapuram-Rambilli in Visakhapatnam district, Krishnapatnam (Nellore), Pulivendula in Kadapa, Krishnapatnam in Nellore and Dindi in East Godavari district.

Present Scenario:-

For Andhra Pradesh to boom in pharma clusters, a task force comprising officials and representatives of pharmaceutical industries has had been constituted to facilitate the establishment of formula drugs. Its formation would serve for the development of necessary infrastructure in the proposed clusters and active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing plants in these clusters with the aim to increase the number of pharma units in the State by three times. In 2017, the count of pharma units in Andhra Pradesh was 162. The number of pharma units in the State is likely to increase rapidly in the next two years. India has the potential to become the region’s hub for the pharmaceutical sector. With its enormous advantages of a large, well-educated, skilled and English-speaking workforce, low operational costs, and improving regulatory infrastructure this land is going to be the central pillar for biotechnological discovery research, manufacturing, exporting, and healthcare services in the next decade.

Present Scenario:-

To develop the scheme, the government of India under the Make in India initiative was to provide a financial assistance of Rs. 20 crores or 70% of the project cost, whichever is less. The project would be materialized in the next two years. Kinfra should take initiative to attract the marketing companies in the state to invest in the project. As there are bigger projects running in neighbouring states, without any financial support as an incentive to the industry from the government, the project was unlikely to kick off. The cluster will turn out to be a global pharmaceutical hub for production, research, marketing, employment etc. Kinfra should give priority to the qualified pharmacists in the state in areas of various job opportunities.
