SCHOLARSHIP FOR PHARMACY STUDENTS

SCHOLARSHIP FOR PHARMACY STUDENTS

SCHOLARSHIP FOR PHARMACY STUDENTS: A scholarship is a programme that backs up the students with the purpose of helping them through financial aid. The findings say it is targeted to the students mostly who want to study at the tertiary level including Universities and colleges. Many learners drop out after passing the 10th or 12th grade because they cannot afford to pay for tertiary studies due to lack of funds. Their dreams are not fulfilled in spite of earning good marks. Although they meet minimum requirements to be admitted to the university the problem remains if they cannot afford their further studies. The scholarship programme is that aid to bridge the gap.

Normally the scholarships are given to those students who fulfill some of the criteria based on the following parameters:

  • Merit-based- Merit Scholarships can be awarded based on fulfilling all the criteria including performance in a particular school subject or even club participation or community service.
  • Need-based- Typically Academic Scholarships use a minimum Grade Point Average or standardized test score such as the ACT or SAT to select awardees.
  • Athletic- based on the athletic performance of a student Athletic Scholarships are generally applicable and used as a tool to recruit high-performing athletes for their school’s athletic teams.
  • Student-specific- For some learners/students, Government and Companies want only them to benefit from these programmes. E.g. – South African citizens are covered by the Scholarship programme in SOUTH AFRICAN countries.

Besides these, Scholarships may rely on criteria of Career-specific, College-specific, Branding Scholarships and Creative Contest Scholarships.

List of Pharmaceutical Companies in Delhi Noida Pdf Pharma Manufacturing Industries

List of Pharmaceutical Companies in Delhi: India could make its place in the global pharmaceuticals sector because of the large pool of potential scientists and engineers steering the industry ahead to a higher level. The pharmacist has to be a protagonist in medicine management and as an overall health care programmer rather than a role of mere dispenser of drugs. The pharmaceutical practice sectors have the requirement of technically and clinically skilled pharmacy professionals capable enough to face global challenges or to compete with the multinationals. Several pharmacy companies targeting pipeline of specialty drugs, niche molecules and complex therapies have ramped up their R&D spend, despite these challenges.

The capital city of India i.e. New Delhi is also one of those points where the pharmaceutical industry is thriving. Nearly 50,000 patients are treated in the 34 hospitals and several dispensaries, polyclinics and local clinics run by the Delhi government. Lok Nayak, which is Delhi government’s biggest tertiary care hospital, has a single medicine counter being run by nursing staff for dispensing medicines for patients coming to the emergency department. Delhi is up for online pharmacies to keep pace with the ongoing demands. India has about 50 e-pharmacy start-ups that have raised $92.6 million in funding.  The new opportunity is exciting in this sub-sector and there are companies doubling their efforts to refine their search for employees to do on-the-ground. Experts said the growth of the online sector exceeds 10% and funding is one of the main reasons driving recruitment.

Present Scenario:

Mumbai is highly urbanized with 42% of the state population living in urban areas. The existence of 3 biotech parks with the support of both the state and central governments has been very important to the inhabitants as it provides the independent electricity generators that in turn ensure the consistency of supply. For the producers, the superior amenities of the parks translate to a cost advantage because of allied local low-cost equipment fabrication.

According to the source from McKinsey Global Institute, the percentage of the deprived population in 1985 will reduce significantly from 93% to an estimated level of 22 %, by 2025 thereby increasing the size of the middle class. Growing middle class with rising income levels will shift the consumption patterns from basic necessities to discretionary items. It would include the health expenditure (13% of household income) featuring high in the consumption basket.

A kidney stone causes Pain that changes as it shifts to a different location or increase in intensity as the stone moves through your urinary tract. Releasing kidney stones can be extremely painful at times. But the stones usually don’t harm permanently if they’re detected early. Until the stones move around within your kidney or pass into your ureter you may not experience severe pain in the side and back, below the ribs to the lower abdomen and groin, or on urination. Sometimes Nausea and vomiting occur and chilled fever if an infection is present.

Symptoms of Kidney Stones

Additionally, some other noticeable symptoms include:

  • Persistent need to urinate
  • Urinating more often than usual in small amounts
  • Pink, red or brown urine
  • Cloudy or foul-smelling urine
  • Severe pain in the side and back, below the ribs

  • Pain that comes in waves and fluctuates in intensity
  • Pain on urination
  • Pink, red or brown urine
  • Cloudy or foul-smelling urine
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Persistent urge to urinate
  • Urinating more often than usual
  • Fever and chills if an infection is present

What is Kidney Stone? Definition

Kidney stones have no definite, single cause to form. When the urine becomes concentrated the minerals crystallize and stick together to form stones. They can be as tiny as a grain of sand and pass unnoticed with the urine. The bigger sizes can block your urine flow and hurt a lot often being worse than childbirth. These crystalline structures can surprisingly grow to the size of a golf ball with sharp edges. The constant build-up of dissolved minerals on the inner lining of the kidneys results in Kidney stones. Usually, these consist of calcium oxalate yet may be composed of several other compounds.

Is it useful for us to know the types of kidney stones?

Indeed it is important to know as the risks vary accordingly the type of stones recognized. Calcium stones are the most common kidney stones usually in the form of calcium oxalate. High doses of vitamin D in the diet, metabolic disorders and even intestinal bypass surgery can increase the concentration of calcium or oxalate in urine. Calcium stones are associated with certain migraine headaches or with taking certain seizure medications and found as in the form of calcium phosphate. Another stone that forms in response to an infection may be a urinary tract infection is called as Struvite stones. These stones can grow quickly and become quite large, with few symptoms or little warning. Uric acid stones form in people those who have gout, who don’t drink enough fluids or who lose too much fluid, those who eat a high-protein diet. Cystine stones appear in people with a hereditary disorder where the kidneys excrete too much of certain amino acids (cystinuria).

How to Prevent Kidney Stones:

Several risk factors that cause Kidney stones:

What Are The Causes Of Kidney Stones? Food Treatment Pain Relief for Kidney Stones

Less Intake of Water

One of the leading causes of kidney stones is lack of water in the body. This is because lack of water is unable to dilute the uric acid, a component of urine that makes the urine more acidic. Make enough time to drink the recommended eight to ten glasses of water a day. Gulp down a citrus drink frequently. The citrate in lemons can prevent stones formation.

Diet Check

Sodium- It is present in table salt that can raise your chances of getting several types of kidney stones. So the next time, have a check on your salty snacks, canned foods, packaged meats, and other processed foods.

What Are The Causes Of Kidney Stones? Food Treatment Pain Relief for Kidney Stones

Animal protein- Excessive intake of red meat and shellfish raises the uric acid level in your body that makes a favourable environment for the stones to appear. On its accumulation in the joints swells gout and also the acid reaches the kidney to cause stones. Moreover, high protein raises calcium level and lowers the amount of citrate in urine, both of which support stones.

In these turbulent times of impurities in food what you eat has a big role to play. Oxalate is a chemical that is present in healthy foods and vegetables. If you have had calcium stones in the kidney and if you eat or drink calcium-rich foods at the same time your body handles the oxalate. Then oxalates from these two sources tend to bind in the gut instead of in the kidneys.

Gut Problems

People with inflammatory bowel disease like Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are very much vulnerable to stones and other kidney problem. Bowel problems bring you diarrhoea making you urinate less. Your body tends to absorb extra oxalate from the intestine that gets in your urine.

Obesity

Double the chance is likely there to get a kidney stone if you’re obese. When your body mass index is 30 or more you are obese. Extreme obesity is reduced with weight loss surgery yet the surgery itself can cause stones. Regular exercise and fitness programs are inevitable for improving health.

Questions for you & your Doctor when you feel you have Kidney Stones:

Do I have a kidney stone?
What size is my kidney stone?
Where is my kidney stone located?
What type of kidney stone do I have?
Will I need medication to treat my kidney stone?
Will I need surgery or another procedure to treat my kidney stone?
What’s the chance that I’ll develop another kidney stone?
How can I prevent kidney stones in the future?
I have these other health conditions. How can I best manage them together?
Do I need to follow any restrictions?
Should I see a specialist? If so, does insurance typically cover the services of a specialist?
Is there a generic alternative to the medicine you’re prescribing me?
Do you have any educational material that I can take with me? What websites do you recommend?
Do I need a follow-up visit?

Food Treatment Pain Relief for Kidney Stones

Foods that cause kidney stones

High-oxalate foods can cause kidney stones. Many plants contain oxalate, so it’s hard to avoid it entirely. But some foods have much more than others. Try to limit:

Spinach
Rhubarb
Almonds and cashews
Miso soup
Grits
Baked potatoes with skin
Beets
Cocoa powder
Okra
Bran cereals and shredded wheat cereals
French fries
Raspberries
Stevia sweeteners
Sweet potatoes
If you eat or drink calcium-rich foods at the same time, they can help your body handle oxalate without turning it into a kidney stone. So pair your spinach salad with low-fat cheese. Or mix nuts or berries into yogurt. Drinking milk does not cause kidney stones.

Kidney stones treatment

Do you want to know now how kidney stones are treated? Lets elaborate the answer. Treatment is tailored according to the type of stone. Urine can be strained and stones collected for evaluation.Drinking six to eight glasses of water a day increases urine flow. People who are dehydrated or have severe nausea and vomiting may need intravenous fluids.

Other treatment options include:

Medication
Pain relief may require narcotic medications. The presence of infection requires treatment with antibiotics. Other medications include:

allopurinol (Zyloprim) for uric acid stones
diuretics
sodium bicarbonate or sodium citrate
phosphorus solutions
ibuprofen (Advil)
acetaminophen (Tylenol)
naproxen sodium (Aleve)
Lithotripsy
Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy uses sound waves to break up large stones so they can more easily pass down the ureters into your bladder. This procedure can be uncomfortable and may require light anesthesia. It can cause bruising on the abdomen and back and bleeding around the kidney and nearby organs.

Tunnel surgery (percutaneous nephrolithotomy)
Stones are removed through a small incision in your back. This procedure and may be needed when:

the stone causes obstruction and infection or is damaging the kidneys
the stone has grown too large to pass
pain can’t be controlled
Ureteroscopy
When a stone is stuck in the ureter or bladder, your doctor may use an instrument called a ureteroscope to remove it. A small wire with a camera attached is inserted into the urethra and passed into the bladder. The doctor then uses a small cage to snag the stone and remove it. The stone is then sent to the laboratory for analysis.

Other Medical Conditions

Some disorders in people encourage one or more types of kidney stones to exist. Certain genetic diseases like medullary sponge kidney, a birth defect that causes cysts to form in the kidneys. In Parathyroidism the parathyroid glands can pump out extra hormones increasing calcium levels in your blood resulting in stones. Type 2 diabetes makes the urine more acidic, which encourages stones. Gout helps in uric acid build up that releases in the blood and form crystals in the joints and the kidneys. These types of kidney stones tend to be large and very painful. Renal tubular acidosis causes too much acid to build up in the body.

Among the many causes, some can affect any part of your urinary tract — from your kidneys to your bladder accompanied with extreme pain. Based on your situation and urgency, you may need to decide medication or operation. It takes nothing more than to take pain medication and drink lots of water to pass a kidney stone. In other instances where stones blocking the urinary tract, are associated with urinary infection causing complications requiring a surgery. Hence, better late than never keep an eye on the kidney stones when you already know the causes of these harmful nuggets of the kidney.

Hope you find this content helpful in your awareness towards kidney stones.

Pharmaceutical Companies in Lucknow - UP India LKO Pharma Manufacturers

Pharmaceutical Companies in Lucknow: The Indian Pharmaceutical sector is greatly influenced by exports and is the 3rd largest foreign exchange earner for India. Uttar Pradesh is that state of India reporting population size of over 200 million with Lucknow being the capital city. Uttar Pradesh has nearly 17% market share of national sale in terms of value. It is India’s 3rd largest economy and largest consumer market. Among all sectors, the pharma sector has been the most neglected in Uttar Pradesh with only a few companies having their manufacturing units in the state. Hence with a concrete step this year, the state government is more than willing to extend all support to the pharmaceutical sector to make UP a hub of pharma industries. The pharma parks would be set up in several selected districts. The industrial panorama in the state is encouraging and reflects the potential for considerable growth in the pharma sector. The state has favourable factors of production to facilitate the development of the pharma sector including the availability of raw material and skilled, unskilled labour.

The government has proposed greenfield pharmaceutical parks in Kanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Hardoi, Shahjahapur and Ghaziabad. These parks would be developed by private developers for the manufacture of medicines and surgical equipment.  The cluster will be equipped with ready-to-use infrastructural facilities such as common testing laboratories, cold storages, effluent treatment plants and other basic amenities built on ‘walk to work’ concept. Research laboratories, diagnostic centres, common facility centres, godowns of pharma companies, hostels and a power station for uninterrupted power supply are included. The State will encourage the developers to build quality testing facilities meeting requirement of API/Formulation Lab and standards of Quality Council of India.

Present Scenario:

With an increase in the middle-class population, most of the people can afford quality healthcare, thereby creating higher demand for the pharmaceutical sector. There are about 76000 pharmacists and 71,000 retail pharmacies in U.P.  The State has a 3-tier public healthcare infrastructure, comprising primary health centres (PHCs), health units, community health centres (CHCs) & sub-centres. Uttar Pradesh has 262 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) centres. The upcoming pharma units of Uttar Pradesh would contribute in the categories of mega, large and MSME. The mega units investing more than Rs 100 crore would have to ensure that 75% of their total workforce comprises local people. Large pharma units investing between Rs 10 crore and 100 crores would ensure employment of 50% of their local workforce.

Present Scenario:

The major hospital chains of AP include Apollo, Care, Global, Yashodha, Kamineni, Indo-American Cancer Institute, LV Prasad Eye Institute, and the Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences. These hospital chains are not only customers for the pharmaceutical industry but also assist with clinical research for new medications. It is certainly the time to capitalise the available resources to transform the State into a booming economic zone.

According to the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) GITAM Biotech Centre of Excellence, AP comprises rich resources and there is a need to develop the expertise to meet the growing demand in biotechnology. In a conference held by APEDB, its Vice-Chairman Lanka Srinivas said that 50% of the research in pharmacy is based on biotechnology and that the country will play a key role in the field in the coming years. D Pharmacy Colleges in Maharashtra - Pharma Diploma Mumbai Nagpur Pune

D Pharmacy Colleges in Maharashtra: The pharmacy profession and education have undergone a sea change as a provider of healthcare services in India post-independence. Although there has been a growing strength of pharmacy workforce in our country, the curriculum failed to meet the international standards. To promote excellence and uniformity in pharmacy education, the Pharmacy Council of India has formed a national task force for pharmacy education. Presently, the pharmacy education in India consists of a variety of courses, namely Diploma in Pharmacy, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Master of Pharmacy, and Master of Science in Pharmacy, Master of Technology in Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy, and Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacy. When we mention about Maharashtra it is the second most populated state of India. It is a home to core drug-makers that accounts for more than 18 per cent of medicines manufactured in India.

Educational Institutions

The state currently has 437 pharmacy institutes, offering diploma, graduation and master’s courses to aspirants. Here we are going to present the pharmacy education at diploma level and the institutes in Maharashtra that provide the academics.

Pharmacy Education in near future

In fact, it would be a healthy change in terms of education to incorporate the addition of new institutes and closure of existing ones. It is in accordance with the recent trends in professional education to cope up with unemployment and futuristic economy in the land. At a time when technical courses such as engineering, management and computer application are witnessing a dip in enrolment, the demand for pharmacy courses is on the rise. The technical education body needs to be cautious while increasing the intake of pharmacy courses. According to the experts, the stream of pharmacy has emerged as an alternative to medicine, as the latter has a limited intake and is increasingly becoming unaffordable to a large section of the population. Students who cannot get admission in medical courses opt for pharmacy.  This is an agreeable fact to accept that even when we went through the recession, the healthcare sector didn’t suffer any loss. The pharmaceutical sector is thriving because there is a rise in lifestyle diseases and as long as there is life the pharmacy will exist.

Vadodara Pharmaceutical companies List

Gujarat had emerged as an independent state than the state of Greater Bombay on 1st May 1960. India was not self-sufficient for medicines and was a net importer of the most of bulk drugs & many formulations until about the appearance of pharmaceutical industries in Gujarat. In 1947(the year of Independence) India’s Pharmaceutical production was just Rs. 100 million. The evolution of the drugs and pharmaceutical cluster started off with the establishment of the first unit – Alembic Chemical Works Ltd. at Vadodara back in 1907.  A surge in demand for pharmaceutical products with the reduction in import after the 1st World War and the growth of textile industries led to large labour inflow.

The reason for the steep rise in new drug discovery and development is a result of the sheer magnitude of R&D opportunities and unmet needs. The development of deep-tank fermentation technology provided the drug industry with large-scale production facilities – the plants and valuable insights into research skills in screening for antibiotic activity in soil samples, organisms, and fungi. UNIDO took up cluster development programme during 2000 and their interventions are as follows:

  1. a) 60 firms have gone for quality up-gradation. Of these, 32 firms have received one or more quality certifications, 6 firms who have already received one certification are now pursuing higher quality certifications. 28 firms are pursuing one or more quality certifications.
  2. b) 41 firms that have gone for quality up-gradation c) 20 firms have got export linkages to new export destinations. 12 firms have got connected to 13 large pharmaceutical manufactures for contract manufacturing.

Present Scenario:-

At present, the pharma industry is undergoing a new phase of internationalisation. The process patent regime is being replaced by a product patent regime that has injected uncertainty and impacted the growth pattern of the cluster.

The major products manufactured in the cluster include

  1. Pharmaceuticals both allopathic and ayurvedic formulation, in different dosage forms (including tablets, liquid, capsules – also called orals; externals and injectables)
  2. Medical disposable products like I.V sets. Approximately 450 drugs and pharmaceutical manufacturing units are running in Ahmedabad, Vadodara and nearby places. About 50 manufacturing units produce medical disposables. Other units are in formulations including ayurvedic products. 7 firms in the clusters are big, around 20-25 medium-sized and the rest are small.

The pharmaceutical industry undergoing the unprecedented changes, there is also a growing strength of pharmacy workforce in our country. The drug segment for lifestyle disorder enhances the growth of India’s pharmaceutical industry categorically in anti-diabetics, antiulcer, antidepressants, cardiovascular, antihypertensive, and drugs needed for Alzheimer’s disease, osteoarthritis, cancer, etc. Currently, the Indian industries are in tough competition from domestic generic markets and other low-cost drug producing countries such as from East Europe belt, China, Korea, and Israel. Andhra Pradesh is a vast growing sector in terms of Pharmaceuticals. The State government is keen on developing Andhra Pradesh as a medical hub of the nation. Moreover, this verdict has taken its course when last year the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stated that the government will set up pharma clusters in four different parts of the State in a meeting. At the Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi it was decided jointly with the representatives of Pharmaceutical Exports Promotion Council of India, Drugs Control Organisation and entrepreneurs from the pharma sector that four pharma clusters will be developed at Chutapuram-Rambilli in Visakhapatnam district, Krishnapatnam (Nellore), Pulivendula in Kadapa, Krishnapatnam in Nellore and Dindi in East Godavari district.

Present Scenario:-

For Andhra Pradesh to boom in pharma clusters, a task force comprising officials and representatives of pharmaceutical industries has had been constituted to facilitate the establishment of formula drugs. Its formation would serve for the development of necessary infrastructure in the proposed clusters and active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing plants in these clusters with the aim to increase the number of pharma units in the State by three times. In 2017, the count of pharma units in Andhra Pradesh was 162. The number of pharma units in the State is likely to increase rapidly in the next two years. India has the potential to become the region’s hub for the pharmaceutical sector. With its enormous advantages of a large, well-educated, skilled and English-speaking workforce, low operational costs, and improving regulatory infrastructure this land is going to be the central pillar for biotechnological discovery research, manufacturing, exporting, and healthcare services in the next decade.
